Direct Connect for Quickbooks

A great question, submitted yesterday, followed by my answer, hope it’s useful: Hi Brendan–do you know, off the top of your head, a bank that supports direct connect for Quickbooks?  I called Wells F. and they proved their unenlightenment once again…thought you might know, as you mentioned you used quickbooks when i saw you the other day.   

,I’m a Bank of America user, forgive me, I came here from the East coast where BoA is sensible, so can’t comment exactly on Wells Fargo’s setup, I’m thinking they absolutely should provide Direct Connect though. In the meantime, here’s the BoA statement regarding Direct Connect:

Can I use QuickBooks with Online Banking?

Yes. To use QuickBooks with Online Banking, you first must be enrolled in Online Business Suite. Enrolling in Online Business Suite will automatically enroll you in Online Banking with QuickBooks (Direct Connect). Click here to enroll in Online Business Suite.

Once you are enrolled in Online Business Suite, you have two options: You can download checking and savings transactions from Online Banking to QuickBooks using Web Connect, or you can access your accounts and pay bills directly through your QuickBooks software using Direct Connect.
